The Ornate Rainbowfish are a species of rainbowfish whose colors differ depending on their collection point. These ones in particular were collected from Searys Creek. In the wild, they are predominantly blue. After having breeders work on them for several years, they were able to get some of the males to develop red tail fins. This batch in particular can throw both all-blue males and some with red. Females of this species are smaller and not as colorful as the males. Rhadinocentrus Ornatus are a great rainbowfish option for those looking for something on the smaller side. They max out around 2 inches compared to other rainbowfish that can get up to 5 inches. Their colors shine the most when they are ready to spawn. Males will flash and flare, showing off for females while asserting dominance over other males. This behavior typically happens in the morning. Please Note: Juveniles are too young to sex and may not show color until they grow older.
